PYP Unit of Inquiry, "Technological Solutions".
Students researched global issues and then, using the Design Process, conceived of technological solutions. Check out Mr. Farrell's video of what transpired:
They then shared their learning process at a PYP assembly, using Powtoons:

Some innovative, technological solutions included the following:
A BB-8 type sphero with specific monitoring capabilities, used for the purpose of protecting endangered species. |
An embedded head device (which looks like a hair decoration), for the purpose of helping mute individuals communicate through an "I Can Talk" application. |
A device which removes just the right amount of clouds, for the purpose of relieving the world of global warming symptoms and based on NASA research. |
A weather sphere to protect polar bears from extinction, due to global warming. |
A Smart Prosthetic Arm which includes items like a GPS, Smart Phone, Internet, etc. |
