Guest Speaker: Oil Spills (By E.S.)
In April my dad was invited to go to my class and share about oil spills. He did this because we've been studying about water issues and water properties in class. Some facts that I learned from his presentation were that the biggest oil spill in the US was in the Gulf of Mexico, and if you want to take out oil from wells then you have to use a special kind of mud so it does not explode. Some things that cause oil spills are: when pipes break, when wells get out of control, or when a ship has an accident. My dad's presentation helped everyone learn about this danger and how to prevent it. My dad was also a good speaker because he spoke clearly, he made eye contact, and he was well prepared!
